Time Warner Telecom (TWTC), a leading provider of managed voice and data networking solutions for businesses in North Carolina, today announced the successful installation of multi-location Gigabit Ethernet Native LAN data services at Hosted Solutions of Raleigh.

Hosted Solutions provides Web hosting and disaster recovery services throughout the Raleigh and Charlotte metro areas, most notably to the Carolina Panthers football and Carolina Hurricanes hockey professional teams. Hosted Solutions cited economical network availability, capacity and scalability as reasons for awarding the multi-year contract to Time Warner Telecom.

The Time Warner Telecom services have made Hosted Solutions more competitive in their space. "We've won quite a few deals because of the high-capacity circuits between our facilities and by being able to do local disaster recovery from one data center to another," said Rich Lee, chief executive officer for Hosted Solutions. "On top of that, we've been able to price our services at a fraction of what national hosting companies can provide."

Hosted Solutions contracted Time Warner Telecom's Native LAN service between its three facilities in Charlotte, Cary and Raleigh. The GigE circuits are currently throttled at 622 Mbps to leave plenty of room for growth. The customer uses the links to traffic data among its three data centers to support Web hosting and disaster recovery service offerings.

"We've been growing so quickly that we had to acquire a third data center to support our operations," added Lee. "We were pleased with the service performance Time Warner Telecom has given us in the past so we contracted with them to significantly expand our capacity. Between hurricanes, ice storms and our "must-be-up 24 by 7" customers, we simply had to have a carrier with their high level of reliability and redundancy."
