It’s April already, and convention season has begun. Webmasters are welcomed to hundreds of conventions across the globe every year. Many conventions offer meetings, seminars, discussion groups, and usually have representatives from major technology companies on hand. In this article I’ll go over some of the upcoming gatherings.

April 12-14 - Digital Rights Management – Strategies 2004
Featuring one of the hottest issues that face web developers – content security. The “keynote speakers” include Michael Miron Co-chair of the Board of Dir. & CEO ContentGuard, Inc. Peter Sargent Senior Analyst, Jupiter Research and Todd Chanko Analyst, Jupiter Research. Located at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, New York, NY. For more information, see here

April 13-14 – Growing your business: Developing, Marketing, and Selling Integrated Solutions.
This convention is aimed toward marketing directors, sales support and staff, and others involved in developing and selling solutions. Learn how to efficiently provide “solutions.” Located at the San Francisco Marriott, San Francisco, California. For more information, see here.

April 20-21 – Search Engine Strategies 2004
With sponsors including Google, Overture, CNET Japan, this show is sure to be a big one. “Only Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo 2004 gives you the actionable information you need to grow your business through search engine marketing. Be part of this exciting event coming to Tokyo!” – JupiterEvents.com Located at the Shinjuku NS Building, Tokyo, Japan. For more information, see here

May 17-22 – 13th International World Wide Web Conference
Enjoy beautiful New York City, and listen to some of most intelligent figures in web design and development. This conference has been running since 1994, and has traveled all over the globe. The event will include tutorials and workshops, panels, poster sessions, plenary sessions, and a “developers day, devoted to in-depth technical sessions designed specifically for web developers.” Located at the New York Sheraton, New York, New York. For more information, see here.

Can’t find a show you can attend?
Meetup.com is a powerful tool used by many event planers, and has gained popularity recently when presidential candidates utilized it to energize voters. I ran a simple search for ‘internet’ and produced a long list on results. see here.

My list does not include big shows in the distant future, such as ComDex, among others.

If you’ve attended any of these events, and would like to weigh in, please send me an email at danny(at)w3reports.com. Additionally, if you have any shows that should be added to an upcoming summer list of shows, please email me.
