IGM.net (Internet Graphics & Media) has announced a unique free web hosting offer for graphic designers and media engineers. The company is hand picking designers from around the web and offering them free web hosting with no banner ads, no reciprocal link required, and absolutely no strings attached. The offer is "by invitation only" and anybody is eligible to be chosen. The purpose of the program is to give talented young designers a chance to have solid reliable hosting, without worrying about whether they can afford it.

Company owner Tim Allen... "There a lot of very talented designers out there without their own web site. Many are having to host their designs on free image-hosting networks, with little or no ability to customize or establish their own layout, navigation, or proper portfolio. You see them at WebHostingTalk and Yaxay all the time. Being a designer myself, and a fan of these young rising talents, I just want to help some of them take a step towards establishing their own presence on the web. That's hard to do without their own web site, and many of them just can't afford it, or don't have the proper payment methods available because of their age or location."

IGM.net is a non-profit company started for the sole purpose of helping young designers establish their own web site. You never know who will get picked, and company owner Tim Allen himself is surfing the forums as you read this, looking for the next great talent. As noted, the offer is "by invitation only" and if you visit the IGM site, you will be greeted with a message that says "Don't contact us - we will contact you". While this may seem a bit stiff to some people, Tim Allen explains..."We just don't have the resources to offer this deal to large numbers of people at this point. We are literally hand picking one person at a time, and setting them up with everything they need. This entire project is non-profit and we have no advertising at all. At some point in the future, we will hopefully find a sponsor, to assist us in keeping the program growing, but for now this is all coming out of our own pocket. We are doing it because we love web design, graphics and media. The young designers today are already using the tools and techniques of tomorrow. It's an amazing thing really. We just want to do our small part to help a few of them. IGM just launched in April, and we have awarded 9 web hosting packages so far. We plan to select at least 1-2 designers each week."
