For many parts of the world, summer is on the horizon. Summer can mean no more school, less hours at work or more free time. These things can be converted into extra money, provided you have some skills.
Buy and Sell
There are hundreds of sites offering a large audience for selling goods. Sites
such as the infamous eBay.com offer an outstanding selling experience. Sell domains,
scripts, sites, and more on these sites. Such sites include:
Sell links and banners
One of the best way to capitalize on websites is by selling things such as links,
buttons, and banners. If your site has a good page rank, and good traffic, there’s
no reason why you can’t sell five or six text links on the size of your
pages. Assuming $10 a month for each text link, that’s a good $50-$60 a
month! Go the banner route, and the prices can go significantly up. Try http://phpadsnew.com
or http://adpeeps.com to deliver
your banners.
Freelance Design Work
Quite a bit of money can be made here, but competition is fierce. Petitioning
small, local businesses can prove to be immensely successful for some people.
Offer your skills in a package. Many small companies will easily pay $150 for
a website, which may only take you an hour to two to complete, and only costs
you $8 for a domain name. Charge a small monthly hosting fee, which depending
on your situation may be profit as well. If there aren’t ample small local
companies to petition for websites, try doing Freelance work for online companies.
Use free ‘job-finding’ services. Some allow you to give your best
price and delivery options. Again, lots of money can be made here. Some webmaster-jobs
related sites are listed below.

Freelance Scripting Work
This one ties in the to above one, but the money potential is substantially larger.
People will pay lots of money for custom coding, script help, and more. Use some
of the above sites.
Use forums to ‘network’ yourself
I’ve always said that forums are the most powerful tool an industry professional
can have. Forums are usually search engine indexed, and some forums (or BBS’s)
have hundreds and hundreds of visitors a day. Make sure and make a good impression
of yourself on forums. Use professional communicational skills, introduce yourself,
and generally make people respect you and your skills. Don’t forget to leave
your link in your signature! Below are some popular forums that webmasters can
advertise themselves at:
- http://geekvalley.com(I run this site)
Conclusion
The Internet isn’t quite the ‘get rich quick’ environment many
believe it to be, but it’s an absolutely outstanding tool for connecting
yourself with paying customers across the globe. "May the force be with
you."

jasong wrote:Actually being in as many places as possible at once is the way to go. Webhostingtalk and yaxay are 2 very popular places owned by iNet, but there are many others, just as good.
I have been given the task of getting links for our websites that have good page rank on the links directories.
In addition we have many categories so your site will be place on an appropriate page.
If you would like to trade links please send me your website details.
If you are not the right person please pass this on to your webmaster.
