Globat.com, a leading value Web hosting provider, today announced a partnership with DomainsAreFree.com to offer registration of .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, and .us domain names for a revolutionary $3.99 per year flat fee. As of June 2004, most registrars are charging between $7.99 and $35.00 for a single year of domain registration, making Globat's pricing the most attractive in this highly competitive industry.

"With Globat.com, we have succeeded in giving our customers a high level of service and reliability coupled with a low monthly rate," said Globat.com CEO, Ben R. Neumann. "Now we want to allow anybody who wants to register a domain name without a web site to experience our low prices and high level of service too."

Customers will also have the option of registering their domain name for free, with the purchase of any annual or biennial Globat.com Web hosting package, starting at $90 for a year for the Gigabyte package which includes 2 Gigabytes of web space and 60 Gigabytes of bandwidth.

DomainsAreFree.com offers customers a number of optional add-ons for their new domain names including spam filtering, domain forwarding, a customizable business card contact page, as well as e-mail forwarding. Globat.com, which is also running a $10,000 sweepstakes for all new hosting clients, says that it expects its no-nonsense price plans for domains and hosting to encourage a lot of new users to buy domains of their own for e-mail and Web hosting, rather than rely on impersonal domain names tied to Web mail and some cheap Web hosting providers.

It's good, a lot of people complain it's not a good "Bulk Registrar" and the features are minimal, but I think it's great, and you can order just what you need which for me is usually just the name and a URL redirect.

A word of warning. Do not ever host your website with Globat, once they get your credit card number they will just keep charging you. They will not cancel your account over the phone or through email. You have to go through a "special process" which is very complicated and costly. Plus they aren't a good host anyway.

There are good hosts out there! Do not get ripped off by Globat!
