NameSecure, a leading full-service domain registrar, announced today the launch of its free .info domain promotion that is available to all of its customers and anyone who wants to try the company's services out at no charge by visiting http://www.namesecure.com . Customers do not have to make any purchase to get up to 25 .info registrations for free, and have no obligation to either renew their domains or make other purchases.

The free .info domains are registered in the customers' name, and are fully controlled by the customer. And, with NameSecure's complimentary DNS hosting, Web forwarding, Email forwarding and One-Page Mini-Site, customers can immediately put their domain names to work. The free .info domains can be used to either forward more traffic to an existing Web site, build a new Web site, or protect a company's domain name by securing the .info version of their .com domain name.

"We're taking this unconventional approach to marketing because we want to showcase our superior services and our company to everyone who is interested in creating or extending their Web presence," said Jeff Grosman, general manager of NameSecure. "Our very high customer satisfaction rates tell us that our customers appreciate the value and services that NameSecure offers, and will refer others to our brand."

NameSecure also offers customers who take the free .info offer the opportunity to add additional services -- professional Web hosting for less than $7.95 per month, and personalized e-mail or WHOIS NamePrivacy -- to get the most from their free .info domains. In addition, NameSecure offers customers the chance to renew their domains for as low as $6.95/yr with their new Domains@Discount program, which includes advanced DNS Management with each domain.

"For 10 years, NameSecure has offered customers quality services that have helped them establish and enhance their online presence," said Grosman. "So this is our way of thanking customers for helping us build a fantastic company, and reaching out to new customers who will experience the same level of satisfaction with us."

Ok I wonder where the catch is on this one... Proabably a pain to transfer from them after that first free year, and then they boost the price..

I've used NameSecure for years. They are very easy to deal with and I've never had a problem transferring in or out.

I just got a few .infos with this promo. Everything went fine.

My history with NameSecure tells me that this is very legit. The PR I saw here makes sense to me.

I did it yesterday - no catch... they are a legit player - have had names with them for years. Actually bought hosting last month and it's been a great experience.

I've used Namesecure as a domain registrar for a few years and their customer service / technical support is nonexistent -- no telephone support is available, and they do not respond to repeated requests for web based email support. Transferring names out of Namesecure has been a nightmare -- they even go so far as to deny the transfers out by claiming that the authorization code that they provide is wrong -- I've tried three times to get one name moved out and all three times Namesecure has claimed that the authorization code was incorrect even though it is the one that they provided! BEWARE!!

I bought a package based on services, but after I paid and tried to set services up, I find they are all extra fee or 30-day trial and then extra fees. I am very diappointed and I will be taking advantage of their money back guarantee, though I anticipate a big battle. I am having the same problem with support. I used them as my DNA server for 2 years with no problem but right now my site & email are nonexistent and there is nobody, and no publication, to assure me that I have done everything correctly and my site will return to the world wide web in 96 hours.

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE !!
I have been using NameSecure since 2000. However their customer service is practially non-existant. I have been trying for days because when I try to access my account I get a message that "my account can't be accessed because of non-payment". Problem is my account is paid up to 2008. As far as I can tell there is no way to contact their billing department or "customer service". Only support who tells me to contact "billing" but can't tell me how to do that. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEM!!!

After reading some of the things others have written about NameSecure it seems to me that they might be committing fraud or at the very least not living up to their promises. There should at least be some way to contact the billing department or customer service when your account is frozen because of "non-payment". This is the strangest situation I have ever run across. They's got it made. I sent email after email and they just ignore me.

Does anyone out there have an address for NameSecure. I would like to put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, or have them looked into by the Attorney General of their state, but I need more Info about them. Before I can fill out the forms I need contact information about them.

Please email me at jjz@onemain.com if you have any information about them.

Namesecure is a fraud. They refused to transfer my domain before it expired and then when it expired they say it can't be transferred until I renew. Catch 22?

My advice, don't use Namesecure.

Also, there is no customer support. Contact is by email only and they totally ignore what you say in the email.
