WordPress 3.6 Beta 2 Available for download

By on April 29, 2013

Lead WordPress developer Mark Jaquith announced today the release of the long awaited release of it’s Beta 2 version.

“The longer-than-usual delay between beta 1 and beta 2 was due to poor user testing results with the Post Formats UI. Beta 2 contains a modified approach for format choosing and switching, which has done well in user testing.” said Mark Jaquith.

A lot of bug fixes as well as tweaks were also completed for beta 2, and he recommends checking out the new release if you were having any issues in Beta 1.  Reminding everyone that this is still a Beta copy and they do not recommend that it is run on a live production site.  The latest stable release is 3.5.1 which can be downloaded directly from WordPress.org

Plugin and theme developers are urged to download, install and begin testing the Beta 2 extensively in order to offer users a more stable final release.   Please report any bugs that you find in the Alpha/Beta are in the WordPress support forums.  They’re looking for feedback and if you’re a developer it’s not to late to get in on the action!
